Unread Chapter. A few years ago I found a stack of vintage photographs of someone’s vacations in an antique mall. I like the idea of using someone elses story as a starting point for a painting. It feels important to use approaches that are not just my own so that I can share in a broader community. This boat scene is from one of those photos. To add to the story I also used a favorite postcard of a girl reading. The layers of polka dots also refer to shared atoms/spirit/connection.
