A part of my ongoing table top series, “Long Shadows,” is an ode to artists I’ve loved and been influenced by over the years. The little book of Picasso was in my childhood home when I was growing up. My postcard of a Degas still life here takes many liberties with the colors. Everything I’ve painted owes much to my influences, whether Matisse or my grandmother’s quilts.
